An Investigation of Mars: A Cosmic Novel is a work of fiction. While the book includes personal experiences, many aspects of the book are based on experiencer testimony, paranormal research, scientific theories, declassified documents, works of art and literature, and myths and stories.

The Interdimensional Hypothesis
Ufology has a long history of entertaining an interdimensional hypothesis, where UFOs (and perhaps other related phenomenon) live in and travel from another dimension. In Mutants and Mystics, Jeffrey Kripal wrote:
"A West Coast psychologist by the name of Meade Layne, after making spirit contact with some aliens through a medium…explained that flying saucers do not come from another planet but from another dimension. Underground Non-Human Intelligences (NHIs), Hollow Earth, and Mount Hayes, Alaska
For decades there have been stories and reports of aliens occupying underground bases, or Earth-originating non-human intelligences (cryptoterrestrials) living in caverns underground. Human cultures around the world have relayed myths, stories, and belief in intelligent creatures that live underground (the Hollow Earth).
Mount Hayes, within the Alaska Triangle, is a location with a long history of UFO activity and stories of underground NHIs.

Universal Consciousness
The concept of a connected or universal consciousness stretches back to ancient
humans and has taken many forms in theology and spiritual traditions, psychology,
and philosophy.
Polarity
According to the Kybalion, polarity is the fourth principle of Hermeticism: "Everything is dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled."
The Platonic, or The Great Year
Due to the cyclical change in the Earth’s axis, the placement of the equinox shifts approximately 1 degree every 72 years, and cycles through the zodiac in a process that takes 25,920 years, called The Great Year.

The Emerald Tablet
The Emerald Tablet is a short and cryptic Hermetic text, attributed to Hermes
Trismegistus. The mantra, “As Above, So Below,” is a paraphrasing of the translated
text:
“True it is, without falsehood, certain and most true.
That which is above is like to that which is below, and that which is below is
like to that which is above…”
This depiction of The Emerald Tablet by Heinrich Khunrath in 1606 was hanging on

Arthur Minear shares with Tomi his belief that there was a global, advanced
civilization that existed in the antediluvian (meaning before the flood) period.
This theory connects global flood myths and is often connected to Atlantis. While the theory has been with us for thousands of years, there is a growing movement of people collecting new evidence and drawing links to ancient knowledge and beliefs. Prominent figures include John Anthony West, Graham Hancock, Randall Carlson, and many others.
Lascaux Caves
